Build, buy, or bin is a business call

There is no shortage of lists describing what AI can do. The useful question is whether a specific opportunity deserves time and money in a specific business.

Build

Build when the workflow is distinctive, the economics justify ownership, and the system can become part of the company's operating advantage.

Buy

Buy when a proven product covers the requirement well enough and speed, support, and lower implementation risk matter more than customization.

Bin

Bin does not mean never. It means the value, readiness, or evidence is not strong enough to justify the work now. Avoiding an attractive but uneconomic project is a valid return.

The verdict is there to force a decision. If the assumptions change, the call can change too.
